Festival of India - Toronto 2024

Tens of thousands of spectators and participants jam Toronto’s Yonge Street every year for the Festival of India parade organized by the Hare Krishna Society. Similar events are held worldwide from London to Paris, from Sydney to New York and beyond to celebrate India’s ancient spiritual traditions. Here in Toronto, hundreds constantly jostle to pull three giant 40 foot tall floats by hand in a euphoric din of singing, dancing, drumming, prayer and endless chants of 'Hare Krishna / Hare Krishna...' that fuel the crowd’s rapture and drive the slow moving throng down the parade route.
